Although my day-to-day work centers on client projects in the digital world, I try to make time for handmade art. Personal work gives me space for happiness, curiosity, and the occasional laugh, usually at myself.
My first client was my grandmother, Nan. When I was six-ish, she asked me to draw a cardinal, so I did. She proudly displayed it in her kitchen, and 40 years later, my parents still have it hanging in their family room.
In school, I doodled during class when I should have been taking notes. I loved one-point and two-point perspective because it felt like I could create anything, from cities to sci-fi worlds. I was voted Most Artistic in 8th grade and again my senior year. I later earned a BFA in Media Arts from Edinboro University and taught design and web classes there as an adjunct professor.
